The upgraded communication system used on the Su-57 fighters will also be used on the new Checkmate (Su-75) light tactical aircraft. The development of the complex is carried out by the research and production enterprise "Polyot" of the holding "Ruselectronics".
“This communication complex [from the Su-57] is planned to be installed on the promising Checkmate fighter. At the same time, due to a number of technical solutions, a reduction in the cost of equipment will be achieved while maintaining the high efficiency of the communication system,”quotesTASS representative of the holding.
It is expected that the testing of communications equipment will begin this autumn. At the moment, prototypes are in the manufacturing stage.
On August 2, 2022, the Federal Intellectual Property Service (FIPS) issued UAC patent RU 132472 12-07 for an industrial design of the Checkmate light tactical aircraft. And earlier, in March, FIPS registered a patent for a light tactical aircraft with an all-angle controllable thrust vector.
One of the main advantages of the Russian promising fighter Checkmate is its cost. According to Sergei Chemezov, it will be up to $30 million. It is several times cheaper than foreign counterparts. The French Dassault Rafale and the Swedish Saab Gripen, for example, cost between $60 million and $90 million.
